Road Insurance & MOT Test in the UK
Every vehicle kept or used on a public road legally requires road tax, road insurance and for vehicles over 3 years old, an MOT test.
Road Insurance & MOT Test
The MOT test is a legal requirement for any vehicle over three years old. It is a test to determine the roadworthiness of a vehicle and involves testing areas such as seat belt efficiency, tyre tread and, more recently, engine emissions.
Tests must be undertaken at a registered MOT test centre by a qualified tester and are renewable every 12 months. Road insurance and MOT certificates need to be presented to the police in the event of a road traffic accident or certain road offences. Failure to do so is an offence in the UK.
